Richland celebrating trees at Friday event

By the Herald staffApril 25, 2013

Richland is holding an Arbor Day and Tree City USA celebration at 1 p.m. Friday in John Dam Park Plaza.

The event will include demonstrations on how to select and properly plant and nourish a tree, a news release said. Ten trees also will be planted to replace some of those lost during last December's wind storm.

Richland Energy Services reminds citizens to plant the right tree in the right place to avoid overhead and underground electrical facilities. More information is online at www.ci.richland.wa.us/energy services, under "Safety and Education" and then "Tree Trimming Information," or by calling 942-7429.
