Golf: Southridge's Mandell fires 65 at Mid-Col pod

Southridge’s Nick Mandell fired a 7-under-par 65 on Wednesday to capture medalist honors during the Mid-Columbia Conference boys golf pod at Canyon Lakes Golf Course in Kennewick.

Richland’s Drew McCullough finished at 69, leading the Bombers to the team title with 290 strokes. Hanford was second at 295 and Southridge third at 312.

Richland’s Hunter Thompson took third in the individual standings, shooting a 2-under 70, while Hanford’s Tanner Martin was fourth at 72.

MID-COLUMBIA GIRLS POD: Pasco’s Neydeen Martinez shot a 4-over 76 to capture the medalist honors at Canyon Lakes.

Hanford shot a team total of 325 to destroy the field, winning by 50 strokes. Kelsey Aiello shot a 78, while Taylor Kain-Godoy fired an 81.

Kennewick was second at 375, while Richland was third at 380.
