Chambers' big blast highlights CBC softball sweep

Maddie Chambers blasted a grand slam home run in the second inning and finished with five RBIs to lift the Columbia Basin College softball team to a 10-1 victory over Clark College at the NWAACC Crossover Tournament in Yakima.

The Hawks (20-14) also beat Pierce 12-4 as Brenda Rodriguez went the distance on the mound, and Ashlen Ayers went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs scored.

CBC coach Adrian Ochoa also credited third baseman Sienna Skeels with some solid defense throughout the day.
