Letter: Arms trade treaty

April 21, 2013

On March 23, U.S. Sens. Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray, both D-Wash., voted against Senate Amendment 139 to S.Con.Res.8. The amendment has the statement of purpose: "To uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty."

Do the Democrats of Washington really want strong-arm leaders the likes of Vladimir Putin of Russia, Kim Jong-un of North Korea, Xi Jinping of China, Bashar al-Assad of Syria, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran, and Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Saud of Saudi Arabia defining rules and laws that you must live by?

I know that most of Democrats want some form of gun control, but do they really want it to come via the loss of our personal freedoms as guaranteed by the Constitution?

If you don't, then write, email or call your senators and tell them they are wrong to hand over your guaranteed freedoms to foreigners.
