Baseball: Columbia Basin sweeps aside Blue Mountain

April 20, 2013

Columbia Basin’s Daniel Neville threw a three-hit shutout in the nightcap of a NWAACC East doubleheader in Pasco, as the Hawks swept Blue Mountain. CBC won the opener 4-2 and the second game 19-0.
Neville struck out five and benefitted from an offensive explosion by the Hawks.
Kenton Brunson was 2-for-2 with two runs scored, five RBIs and a home run, while Joe Roletto was 2-for-3 with two runs, three RBIs, a double and a homer.
“We had some big hits with runners in scoring position, which we were unable to do in the first game,” CBC coach Chris Staton said. “It was good to see us bounce back and enjoy the game of baseball after a rough stretch.”
In the opener, Thomas Bevington allowed just one run in seven innings to earn the victory for CBC.
