Softball: Kamiakin sweeps Chiawana

Kamiakin 18-18, Chiawana 2-1: Emily Benson was 7-for-10 with a double, homer and five RBIs in a doubleheader sweep Friday in Pasco.
Melanie Oord added a 4-for-7 day for the Braves. Whitney Weber had a triple and an RBI for the Riverhawks.

Abby Perryman threw a one-hit shutout in the nightcap, striking out eight and walking one. She also was a combined 3-for-5 with a double, two runs and three RBIs in the doubleheader.

Hanford 12-10, Pasco 2-0: Kadi Patterson pitched a one-hitter with seven strikeouts in the second game as Hanford completed a Mid-Columbia Conference sweep of Pasco in Richland.
Kayla De La Paz got the win in the opener, and helped her own cause, going 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and three RBIs. MaKenna Hall also drove in three runs in the first game.

Kennewick at Walla Walla, ppd.: The Mid-Columbia Conference doubleheader scheduled for Friday in Walla Walla was postponed because of rain.
The game will be made up at 3 p.m. Monday in Walla Walla. The Blue Devils’ nonleague single game against Kamiakin has been moved to 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Liberty Christian 13-17, Lyle-Wishram 2-15: Kiersten Peterson tossed a two-hitter in the opener and was 8-for-10 with two doubles, a triple, a home run, five RBIs and six runs for the Patriots in a road sweep.
LC scored six runs in the top of the seventh of the second game to force extra innings, then won it in the ninth.
