Kennewick ice cream truck driver arrested, accused of luring teen

— A 41-year-old Kennewick man is suspected of trying to lure two girls into his ice cream truck while he masturbated, said Kennewick police.

Police arrested Maximino Castillo-Murcia on Thursday after an alleged incident the day before in Monopoly Park in Kennewick.

He’s accused of touching himself in front of two girls, ages 7 and 13, while he sold them ice cream, Crime Prevention Specialist Mike Blatman said. The teen threw her ice cream at Castillo-Murcia and ran.

The teen didn’t tell anyone about the incident until she talked to school officials Thursday, Blatman said. Police, along with the teen, searched for the truck and were able to find it near Fourth Avenue and Kent Street in Kennewick.

The girl identified the truck and Castillo-Murcia and he was arrested, Blatman said.

Police believe it is possible that there have been other unreported incidents involving Castillo-Murcia and the truck. They are asking anyone with who may have had a similar encounter to contact the Kennewick Police Department at 628-0333.
