BOYS SOCCER: Richland boys shut out Chiawana

John Larsen scored a pair of goals and Austin Herrick added a goal and two assists to lead the Richland boys soccer team to a 3-0 Mid-Columbia Conference road victory over Chiawana on Tuesday night.

Keeper Damian Ruiz had four saves for the Bombers in the victory.

KAMIAKIN 2, KENNEWICK 1 (SO): Josymar Renteria scored the game-clinching goal in the shootout as visiting Kamiakin defeated Kennewick in a Mid-Columbia Conference match at Lampson Stadium.

The match went to a shootout after it ended tied at 1-1 at the end of overtime, as Jose Aguiano (Kamiakin) and Adrian Rojo (Kennewick) scored goals in regulation.

Riley Shulman had eight saves at keeper for the Braves.

Hanford 2, Southridge 1 (SO): Jacob Thiel made two saves in the shootout, leading the Falcons to another close MCC win, this time at home against the Suns.

“We’re 3-for-3 in shootouts,” said Hanford coach Mike Pardini, noting that Thiel has seven saves in those three shootout wins. “He’s pretty comfortable in that situation.”

PASCO 2, WALLA WALLA 1 (OT): Emilio Meraz scored seven minutes into overtime to lead Pasco over host Walla Walla in Mid-Columbia Conference play.

“It was not our best game, but our fortitude was good to get the win in overtime,” Pasco coach Matt Potter said. “(Walla Walla) are not bad at all. They are a strong team, for sure.”

Hector Magana also scored for the Bulldogs, while Francisco Sanchez scored for the Blue Devils.
