— An intoxicated Pasco man pulled a knife on members of the Jokers staff in Richland shortly before the bar closed Thursday, according to the Richland Police Department.

Bouncers tried to remove 21-year-old Eric D. Sylvester from the club around 1 a.m. when he pulled a 4-inch folding knife from his pocket and threatened to cut them, a release form the department said. Sylvester was arrested and is on a 72-hour hold at the Benton County jail while prosecutors decide whether to file charges.

Sylvester was removed form the bar by security guards and once outside he became agitated and pulled the knife, the release said. Another man who was with Sylvester was able to intervene and calm him down.

When police arrived they found Sylvester in a car in the parking lot and the knife on the floor of the car, the release said. Officers detained Sylvester and got a search warrant to seize the knife.

Sylvester was booked into the Benton County jail on a second-degree assault charge, the release said.
