Kennewick man arrested for DUI after running stop sign, WSP reports

— A Kennewick man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a crash Thursday night that sent another driver to the hospital.

Luis Alfaro Jr., 28, ran a stop sign on Phend Road about 11 miles north of Pasco and collided with Donal Rice, 49, of Eltopia, about 8:20 p.m., said the Washington State Patrol.

Both Alfaro’s BMW and Rice’s Cadillac Deville were totaled in the crash and Rice was taken to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco, WSP said. Alfaro was not injured in the collision, WSP said.

Alfaro was arrested on suspicion of DUI and booked into the Franklin County jail, WSP said.
