One person dead in collision south of Mattawa

— One person is dead and five others injured following a three vehicle crash south of Mattawa on Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened on Highway 243, just eleven miles from the small agricultural community. The road is blocked from the collision and its unknown when it will reopen, according to the Grant County Sheriff's Office.

Officials with Washington State Patrol said casualties include four people in one vehicle and the drivers of the other two vehicles.

The crash was still blocking the highway as of 8 p.m. No other details were available as troopers and investigators were still working at the scene.
