Economic development group to meet in Prosser


PROSSER -- The annual meeting of the Prosser Economic Development Association will be at 5:30 p.m. April 15 at the Benton PUD, 250 N. Gap Road, Prosser.

The speaker will be Maury Forman, senior manager for the Washington State Department of Commerce. His focus is on creating healthy downtowns and a culture of entrepreneurship in rural communities.

Forman is also the founder and director of the award-winning Northwest Economic Development course at Central Washington University. He serves on the board of the Bollinger Foundation, which raises and allocates funds for the education and support of children of a deceased parent who had worked in community or economic development.

He also has received numerous awards and is the author and editor of several books on economic development, including Ten Commandments of Community Leadership, 25 Immutable Rules of Successful Tourism, Learning to Lead and Washington Entrepreneurs Guide.
