Thankful Thursday: Kindess at Life Care of Kennewick appreciated

March 28, 2013

I recently was very sick and was told I needed somebody around while I got my strength back. So Life Care of Kennewick it was.

Thoughts of "I'll never get out of here," and just plain fear ran through my head, but I put by best game face on and forged ahead into the unknown.

When, I woke up I was greeted with a smile, a kindness, and a gentle but firm -- almost loving -- touch, assisting my every need. For once in a very long time, I was not afraid.

When I got my strength back, I started roaming the hallways in my wheelchair. Everyone I talked with was happy, and the staff was upbeat, helpful and went the extra mile to make sure my every need was attended to -- even a big screen TV at the end of my bed. In short, I thought I had died and gone to heaven.

When the time came to go, the staff lined the hallway and gave me a standing ovation as I cried rolling through. I cannot thank them enough.
