Baseball: Rapacz leads CBC to split with Spokane Falls

Spokane 5-6, CBC 2-16: After a rough opener, the Hawks bounced back to pound the visiting Sasquatch in the nightcap of an NWAACC East Region doubleheader in Pasco on Wednesday.

Ryan Atkinson was 4-for-6 with three RBIs, while Zach Rapacz was 4-for-5 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Hawks’ onslaught. CBC banged out 20 hits in the victory.

In the opener, Braden Wolgamott was 2-for-4 with a double, but the Hawks (1-1, 9-9) were kept off balance throughout the game.

Wenatchee Valley 8, Walla Walla 1: The Knights held off the Warriors in the opener of an NWAACC East Region home doubleheader. No information was available for the nightcap.

In the opener, Jesse Houser (3-2), a Kamiakin grad, took the loss for Walla Walla, allowing six runs on seven hits in six innings. He did strike out 10. Jarrod Turner, of Richland High, hit a solo homer to provide the lone scoring for the Warriors.
