March 24, 2013

A 20-year-old man was stabbed Sunday night in Kennewick after an argument with two juveniles, said the Kennewick Police Department.

Oscar Hernandez of Kennewick was walking in the area of Third Avenue and Zillah Street around 6:30 p.m. when he allegedly was confronted by two teenagers. The three began to fight and Hernandez was stabbed in the chest, police said.

About 15 minutes after the quarrel, the suspects were arrested and booked into juvenile detention on first-degree assault.

Hernandez is listed in stable condition at a local hospital.

Police say the subjects are known gang members or affiliates.

The Benton County Sheriff’s deputies assisted in the arrests.
