— The Benton County Sheriff's Office is investigating a Friday shooting in Finley that left a 53-year-old man dead.

Authorities haven't released details about the circumstances. The shooting happened on a small farm property at 196905 E. Bowles Road.

The shooting report came in about 2:16 p.m.

Benton County Coroner John Hansens said an autopsy is planned Saturday. The man's name wasn't released because officials still were notifying out-of-town relatives.

Sheriff's Cpl. Scott Winsor said there were several witnesses, and "they've at least preliminarily all been talked to."

No arrests had been made as of 9:45 p.m. Friday, he said.

At the scene Friday, deputies questioned a few people on the property for more than an hour before taking one man away in the back of a patrol car.

Neighbors said a house on the property recently was built and a family lives there. It was unclear from online property records who owned the home.
