Regional Public Facilities District accepting pro/con committee applications

Published: March 21, 2013

People interested in helping write the official statements for and against a sales-tax measure that would pay for a proposed regional aquatics center have until 12 p.m. April 3 to apply.

The statements will appear in the voters pamphlet. The Tri-Cities Regional Public Facilities District is proposing a one-tenth of 1 percent sales-tax increase to pay for the aquatics facility in Pasco.

The measure is expected to appear on the August primary ballot.

Each committee can have up to three people. The board will give preference to registered voters living in the district and also attempt to appoint people representing all three cities in the district.

To get an application, e-mail gluper@bfcog.us or call 943-9185.
