I have been reading with interest the story of the 6-year-old Pasco boy disciplined for just talking about a toy Nerf gun.

There recently have been numerous other stories of reactions to small children that totally lack any common sense. A young boy who was reprimanded for having toy soldiers on birthday cupcakes, and on it goes. I would be the first to agree that the Newtown, Conn., massacre was horrific and I was devastated, along with the rest of the country, but the reactions to harmless, innocent incidents, in many cases, has been totally ridiculous!
