Conflict resolution should be taught in the home, our first learning environment. Without even thinking, we are teaching by being role models. More important than fighting in front of the children, is resolving the conflict in front of them.
So often this is not the case, so we must ensure the message of conflict resolution is taught in early education, along with anti-bullying messages.
The feeling of thinking that there is no other way out of a bad situation than to create an even worse situation must be unbearable.
To have less violence, we must change ourselves. Hurt, anger and hard feelings develop and turn into depression, deranged thinking and explosive behavior.
Guns are just a tool to convey the message.
