Tennis: Richland boys, Kamiakin girls sweep counterparts

Kamiakin at Richland: Travis Zuroske led a 7-0 sweep for the Richland boys, defeating Ben Welch of Kamiakin 6-2, 6-1 in No. 1 singles. But the Braves girls turned the tide on the Bombers, taking all seven matches from Richland on Tuesday.

Pendleton at Southridge: James Perez and Parker Dickin earned three-set victories at No. 2 and No. 3 boys singles, helping the Suns defeat the Buckaroos at home.

The girls opened their season with a victory as well, as Beth McKay and Katie Brunson won 6-4, 7-5 in No. 1 doubles.

Othello at Grandview: The visiting Huskies won all five boys matches in straight sets, while the Othello girls also were 5-0. Both teams earned their first victories of the season.
