Kennewick — Cedar Inn and Suites in Kennewick near the Three Rivers Convention Center and the Toyota Center will become a Red Lion Inn and Suites in early April, Red Lions Hotel Corp. announced Tuesday.
The hotel is just a little over two years old and is in a fantastic location for both sports groups and business professionals, said Ron Burgett, executive vice president of lodging and brand development for Red Lion in a statement.
It will complement Red Lions full service hotels in the Tri-Cities, he said.
The hotel, at 602 N. Young St., is a 61-room limited service property with an indoor pool and 300 square feet of meeting space.
Red Lion Hotels Corp. signed a franchise license agreement with Sandhu NW Hospitality, the owners of a hotel in Kennewick.
This is a fantastic opportunity for us to work with Red Lion in the Tri-Cities, said Paul Sandhu of Sandhu NW Hospitality, in a statement. Sandhu is also an owner of the Red Lion Inn & Suites Kent, in Western Washington.
We have had early success with Red Lion at our Kent hotel, so this move seemed like a natural next step, he said.
