Boys soccer: Herrick, Kamara help Richland rout Southridge 7-0

Austin Herrick and Ali Kamara each scored two goals, and Jon Larsen had four assists to help the Richland boys soccer team beat Southridge 7-0 on Thursday in their Mid-Columbia Conference opener.

Richland scored in the 75th, 77th and 78th minutes to help pad its lead.

“When you get in the shooting grooves, your percentages go up, and that’s kind of what happened in a way,” Richland coach Octavio DoValle said.

Pasco 1, Kamiakin 0: Hector Magana scored off an assist from brother Juan Magana in the 72nd minute to lift the Bulldogs past the Braves in the Mid-Columbia Conference opener for both teams at Edgar Brown Stadium in Pasco.

“It was a great, tough game,” Pasco coach Matt Potter said. “We scored a nice goal down the stretch.”

Kennewick 2, Hanford 1: Junior Brandon Lopez scored the game winner with 16 minutes left in regulation to lead Kennewick past Hanford in the MCC opener for both teams at Lampson Stadium.

Adrian Rojo also scored for the Lions, while Mario Varate had the Falcons’ lone goal.
