A few too many errors, a few too many strikeouts — in other words, the Columbia (Burbank) softball team has some early-season wrinkles to iron out.

Six errors by the defense and 10 strikeouts by the offense led to the Coyotes’ 13-4 nonleague loss to visiting Riverside of Spokane on Tuesday.

“We’ve had to move some people around,” said Burbank coach Tucker Urdahl. “It doesn’t surprise me we’ve had errors. We’re learning some new positions.”

CB pitcher Brittany Cotsford struck out seven before departing in the sixth inning. She also doubled and scored a run for the Coyotes, who stuck four on the board in the bottom of the sixth.

“We just have some work to do,” Urdahl said.
