Fast Focus 'What would you like to see along the riverfront?' Richland suggestions

Published: March 10, 2013

To better integrate the Richland downtown area with the under-utilized river resource, I would reduce George Washington Way to two lanes between Swift Boulevard and Jadwin Ave. A landscaped median strip and pedestrian islands would make the area much more walker friendly. Motorists who wish to avoid the area could use Jadwin or the bypass highway. This new configuration would lessen the strip mall feel of this section of town and create a more distinctive city center.
