Celebration set for research of Coyote Canyon Mammoths

The MCBONES Research Foundation, which supports the Coyote Canyon Mammoth Site south of Kennewick, plans a celebration and silent auction from 7 to 9 p.m. March 16 at the Battelle Auditorium in Richland. There is no cost.

Since 2008, volunteers and students have been excavating mammoth and other bones from the site and creating a record of the past 17,500 years, the age of the mammoth bones.

Tours of the mammoth excavation site will resume in May. To reserve space, call Donna Van Beek at 509-989-1449.
