Finley student being held for writing "death list"

Published: March 7, 2013

A Finley School District student is being detained by law enforcement after a "death list" containing student and staff names was found at Finley Middle School on Wednesday.

The student who allegedly wrote the list, which contains about 50 names, was emergency expelled and is being held at the Benton County Juvenile Justice Center, according to a release from the district. All people named on the list are being contacted by the district.

District officials and the Benton County Sheriff's Office said there is no current danger to anyone at the middle school. School officials are asking students and others to refrain from discussing the incident on social media as it is now a police investigation.
