UPDATE: Police investigating body, fire at Pasco motel

March 5, 2013

— Pasco police are investigating a possible homicide at the Tahitian Inn at 2724 W. Lewis St. in Pasco.

A maid reportedly found a body in one of the rooms between 10 and 10:30 a.m., said Capt. Jim Raymond.

There also may have been a fire in the room. Because of the suspicious circumstances, the death is being investigated as a possible homicide, he said.

Franklin County Coroner Dan Blasdel said about 2 p.m. that his team hadn't yet entered the room; they were waiting on Washington State Patrol crime scene investigators.

When they do get in, they will take photos, do an assessment of the body and then take the body to the morgue and schedule an autopsy, Blasdel said. He wasn't sure of a timeline, he said.
