CBC baseball finds offensive spark in split with Centralia

Published: March 4, 2013

Hanford graduate Riley Shintaffer scored the go-ahead run for Centralia in Game 1 of an NWAACC doubleheader, coming home on on John Piper’s RBI single in the ninth, in a 3-2 win over CBC.

The Hawks (2-2) bounced back with a 12-6 win in the nightcap, as Ryan Atkinson and Kenton Brunson combined for six hits and five RBIs. CBC trailed 2-0 early on but scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth thanks to four infield errors — three by third baseman Ben Smith — to take the lead.
