Refocus on Vista Field: It's not all about profit

Published: March 3, 2013

It's funny to hear all the complaints about how the Vista Field airport doesn't make money. Guess what? Neither do the many running tracks and fields associated with our schools. In fact, most of the year, I see the tracks and fields are completely empty. But their relatively sporadic use doesn't diminish their community value. How about the city pool? It's not even open nine months of the year.

There are facilities that have community value, even if they don't generate a profit. The same applies to Vista Field. Keep it open.
