Thirteen teachers will be recognized for their contributions to education Thursday at the 15th annual Crystal Apple Awards.
Superintendents from seven Mid-Columbia districts will present the awards, prize money and other gifts that come with the distinction at the event, according to a release.
The event will be in the Byron Gjerde Center at Columbia Basin College in Pasco at 4:30 p.m.
The Special Achievement Award, which honors outstanding and sustained contributions to education in the region, also will be announced.
The public is encouraged to attend. A free reception will follow the ceremony.
