State girls basketball: Kamiakin vs. Mercer Island live updates

Kamiakin 57, Mercer Island 47, final: Sira Toure hit a clinching 3-pointer, helping sew up the Braves' first state tournament win since 2011.

Kamiakin will face the winner of University-Glacier Peak at 8 a.m. Saturday in the fourth-place game.

Toure finished with 26 points to lead all scorers.

Kamiakin 52, Mercer Island 42, 3:11 left in the game: The Islanders are attempting a rally, but are running low on time.

Sira Toure leads all scorers with 23 points.

Kamiakin 48, Mercer Island 36 end third quarter: The Islanders cut the lead to 44-36, but Amanda Miller made a layup and Holly Ellison a short jumper to push the lead back to double digits.

The Braves appear in firm control of this one.

Kamiakin 44, Mercer Island 31 with 3:18 left third quarter: Not much scoring here in the third, but the Braves have extended their lead by a point.

Lots of missed shots by both teams, though Sira Toure hit a 3-pointer and now has 21 points for the game.

Kamiakin 39, Mercer Island 27, halftime: The Islanders went on a 7-2 run in the final minute to cut into Kamiakin's lead, but the Braves are still firmly in control.

Kamiakin has forced 13 turnovers, leading to 16 points.

Sira Toure has 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting, while Courtney Nelson and Holly Ellison have seven points each.

Jess Blakeslee's nine points leads Mercer Island.

The Kamiakin defense has also been stout, forcing nine Islanders turnovers.

Kamiakin 14, Mercer Island 7, 2:37 left first quarter: The Braves have come out shooting the ball extremely well, as Sira Toure is forcing the action.

Toure already has 10 points, including two 3-pointers.

The Braves have also forced four turnovers and are playing with much more confidence this morning than in the quarterfinal.

Pregame: The Kamiakin Braves girls basketball team is on the court and warming up, preparing to face Mercer Island in a Class 3A state tournament elimination game Friday at the Tacoma Dome.

The winner of this game will play for fourth place at 8 a.m. Saturday, while the loser is headed home.

Kamiakin lost 46-39 to Seattle Prep in the quarterfinals Friday, while Mercer Island lost to Wilson 48-37.
