Letter: Reprimand for conservative Lutheran pastor makes no sense

Published: February 26, 2013

An article I read on Saturday's Faith and Values page quite frankly stunned me. It was about a New York conservative Lutheran pastor who was reprimanded for praying in an interfaith setting for the victim's of an elementary school shooting.

Isn't God a peaceful and loving source. Weren't the victims involved children from many faiths? In this day and age, shouldn't we realize that peace on Earth comes from celebrating our own faith and respecting others.

All faiths tap the same higher power, we just call that power by different names. Spirituality is a personal thing, and we should come to learn that there is no right way or wrong way, there is just a different way. Isn't that where the phrase, "Judge not lest ye be judged," comes from?
