Hermiston man arrested for assault over debt

— A 22-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly assaulting a man over a small debt.

Francisco J. Carillo got into an argument with another 22-year-old Hermiston man early that afternoon, according to a release from the Hermiston Police Department, leading to the assault.

Carillo was found several hours after the incident and was booked into the Umatilla County Jail under suspicion of second-degree assault.

The victim was treated by Hermiston Fire & Emergency Services and taken to Good Shepherd Hospital but his injuries weren’t life-threatening.
