A crew from Ray Poland & Sons in Kennewick, comprised of five brothers, work together Wednesday pouring concrete in the Columbia Irrigation District's main canal near the bridge at Dayton Street in Kennewick. From left, they are: Juan Zarazoga, 27, Hilario Zarazoga, 26, German Zarazoga, 31, Candelario Zarazoga, 24, and Santos Zarazoga, 29. The section of new reinforced concrete liner is a preliminary component to a planned replacement of the bridge, according to CID officials. Pretty much everything is in place to replace the bridge this summer, said Steve Plummer, Kennewicks engineering services manager. The estimated $568,000 project is expected to begin in early June and be completed by mid-August. The timeline is set to minimize the impact to traffic for nearby Kennewick High School, Plummer added. BOB BRAWDY — Tri-City HeraldBuy Photo
