Richland man to compete in 'Countdown to the Oscars' TV show for $1 million

Josh Darby of Richland will compete this week for a chance to win $1 million on national TV.

Darby, who is one of the show directors for the Academy of Children's Theatre, will be a contestant on the Millionaire's Countdown To The Oscars show, which airs Tuesday through Wednesday on ABC.

According to Trisha Miller, a publicist for the show, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences conducted a sweepstakes on its Facebook page last fall and selected Darby as the winner.

He received an all-expense-paid trip to New York City to appear on the show's movie-theme week where he could win the $1 million top prize.)
