The Kennewick City Council is accepting applications from citizens for the council seat left vacant by Sharon Brown, who recently was appointed to the state Senate.
The council will accept applications for the Ward 2 seat until 5 p.m. March 1.
The person appointed will serve until Dec. 31.
Applicants must be at least 18, registered voters and residents of Kennewick for at least one year. They must live in ward 2, located generally between Union Street and Olympia Street, north of West 19th Avenue and between Union Street and South Vancouver Street south of West 19th Avenue.
