A workshop about how to start and maintain a community garden is at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Kennewick Senior Center, 500 S. Auburn St.

Gardening experts will be available to meet one-on-one to discuss design, soil testing and preparation, planting, care and harvesting, gardening tools and how to donate excess garden produce.

At 5:30 p.m., community garden experts will begin a formal presentation on the ins and outs of a community garden.

The program includes representatives from the cities of Richland and Kennewick, the Washington State University Extension Office, Benton Franklin Master Gardeners and the Giving Green Food Banks Garden.
