Female farmers in Washington are invited to take part in an agriculture workshop offered at 21 locations statewide, including Prosser and Walla Walla.
"Growing Your Successful Farm Business" runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 23 at Washington State University in Prosser, at 24106 N. Bunn Road, and Walla Walla Community College.
Keynote speaker Trini Campbell, owner of Riverdog Farm in Guinda, Calif., will discuss her experience building a diverse 500-acre organic farm.
A financial expert at each location will discuss working capital and a local producer panel at each location will talk about risks and challenges with farming.
Registration is $25 and includes a copy of the book, Farmer Jane - Women Changing the Way We Eat, and lunch. The deadline to register for the event is Feb. 18 at www.womeninag.wsu.edu.
