Election letter: Richland bond: No

February 4, 2013

As much as I love our children I will vote against the $93 million school bond. I cannot, in good conscience, vote for brand new schools.

We need to repair the roof of the schools that need it when they need it. Add walls and electrical outlets. Make repairs when needed and not wait for the damage to require replacement of entire structure.

What would happen if those people who had houses older than 1973 waited to repair leaks in their roofs? They would be considered foolish. Why should we be foolish with our schools?
