Letter: Unhappy with reporting on Kamiakin-Richland basketball game

February 4, 2013

Throughout this basketball season, it has come to my attention that the Tri-City Herald has not been covering basketball the way that it has in years past. It seems as if the newspaper has started to focus less on high school sports.

One example was when Richland played Kamiakin in a boys basketball game in December, which would usually draw a lot of local media attention.

That game came down to the very end, and the following day there was one paragraph written in the paper that only told the final score of the game and the statistics from the Kamiakin players.

Since the Richland vs. Kamiakin match-up is one of the marquee match-ups in the Tri-Cities, it comes as a surprise that the Tri-City Herald isn't covering games like this any better.
