South Columbia Basin Irrigation District's 2013 irrigation season starts March 20 for the Mattawa area in Grant County and Potholes area of Franklin County, the district said in a news release.

The Walla Walla County system starts the same day.

Irrigation deliveries "will be dependent on demand in the individual lateral systems" and startup dates in areas where pumping plants are required for deliveries will depend on adequate orders, the release said.

Irrigation to the Block 18 East Low Canal system is scheduled to start March 28, the release said.
