Richland — Officials at Washington State University Tri-Cities announced the first candidate for the university's open chancellor position today.
Karla V. Hughes, currently provost and vice president of academic affairs at Morehead State University in Kentucky, will visit the Richland campus on Feb. 8 for interviews and a public forum, according to a release.
The university has been looking for a new chancellor since Vicky Carwein left to head Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne last summer. More candidates will be announced in the coming weeks.
