About 500 Benton Rural Electric Association customers lost power for about two hours Thursday in West Richland.
John Porter, Benton REA's chief financial officer, said an equipment failure at the Horn Rapids substation caused the power outage around 3 p.m.
Most of those affected live near Ruppert Road and Harrington Road in northern and western parts of the city.
