Letter: Voe yes for Pasco school bond

Published: January 28, 2013

We would like to urge the passage of the Pasco School Bond Issue. Additional space is imperative due to the phenomenal growth in recent years. This bond is a sensible building plan which would utilize a kindergarten/grades 1-6 configuration at the elementary level. Two elementary schools would be built using the same model that has been constructed already. This plan would save taxpayers' dollars. The state school officials recognize that Pasco "constructs schools at a lower square-footage cost than other districts." Besides the two elementary schools other smaller projects will be provided as well.

Much time, deliberation and community input has been utilized studying multi-track year-round schooling and double shifting options, as well as other building plans. The proposed bond Issue is the least costly and, more importantly, the best for our children.

The cost increase of 34 cents per $1,000 of assessed value is a great investment for our children and community.

Please join us in voting "yes!"
