BOWLING: Kennewick's Shiflet named top MCC bowler

Last season’s 3A state bowling champion, Kennewick’s Karissa Shiflet, was named the Mid-Columbia Conference’s bowler of the year by the conference coaches.

Kennewick’s Oscar Garnica and Pasco’s Teresa Chavez were named co-coaches of the year.

Mid-Columbia Conference all-league

Bowler of the year: Karissa Shiflet, Kennewick.

Coach of the year: Oscar Garnica, Kennewick, and Teresa Chavez, Pasco.

First team: Karissa Shiflet, sr., Kennewick; Kendal Saueressig, jr., Hanford; Daicee Singer, jr., Kennewick; Karla Garcia, sr., Pasco; Danielle Gonzales, sr., Kennewick.

Second team: Mekenzie Richardson, fr., Richland; Xochitl Garcia, sr., Kennewick; Mariko Sital, sr., Pasco; Neydeen Martinez, jr., Pasco; Shannon Cochran, so., Richland.
