Early morning blaze destroys Kennewick RV

An early Friday morning fire destroyed an RV and a nearby vehicle, but no one was hurt in the blaze, authorities said. It took firefighters about 15 minutes to extinguish the blaze at 33 West Deschutes Place in Kennewick.

An fire early Friday destroyed an RV and a nearby vehicle, but no one was hurt in the blaze, authorities said.

The fire broke out about 4 a.m. Firefighters arrived at 33 W. Deschutes Place in Kennewick to find "a well involved fire" that had spread to the RV, the vehicle and fencing and "other combustibles," a city news release said.

A man inside the RV escaped safely. He and a neighbor tried unsuccessfully to control the blaze, the release said.

Kennewick fire crews battled the blaze, with help from Benton Fire District 1. The cause hasn't yet been determined.
