River Views Kody Bartlett hit a key 3-pointer and played lockdown defense Tuesday to lead the Panthers to a 51-41 upset of visiting Kiona-Benton in an SCAC East game in Finley.
Bartlett held Cristian Aguilar, the Bears all-time leading scorer, to eight points in the victory.
We played straight man-to-man. He does a great job for us, he is our defensive stopper, River View coach Roger Sonderland said.
Bartlett also hit a 3-pointer with 90 seconds to play to put River View on top by five.
We started out with a good lead and Ki-Be slowly tore into it and it was back and forth, Sonderland said. The star of the night, though, was Mike Anderson.
Anderson had a game-high 17 points and 12 rebounds for River View.
