Kennewick Magill's restaurant now closed

Published: January 22, 2013

The Kennewick Magill's Restaurant on Columbia Drive closed Monday.

The restaurant, which opened last September, is owned by husband and wife, Darren Martin and Sheila Bentley, who also have two other restaurants -- Magill's, in Pasco and Richland.

On their website, the couple said, "The support we got in Kennewick was fantastic ... it just wasn't enough."

"We knew we were taking a gamble opening a store in the middle of a recession but knew that the need for another good eatery in east Kennewick was there. Unfortunately, Magill's is an expensive operation and the sales were just not enough to sustain us through the recession. We held on as long as we could but feel any more time running a deficit would begin to affect our other two locations."

The couple said the Pasco and Richland locations are doing very well. They plan to add full bar service and TVs for sporting events to the Pasco restaurant in the immediate future. They also plan to have bar service in the Richland location by summer.

They plan to expand their catering and carry-out services in the Pasco and Richland locations.

Magill's will honor any Spotted Fox coupons or gift certificates purchased in Kennewick at its Pasco and Richland locations.
