River View to induct new class into hall of fame

Published: January 21, 2013

The River View Panthers will induct four athletes — Jordan Dallas (Class of 2006), Amanda Kimsey (2007), Brandy Sonderland (2006) and Charlie Roberts (1986) — into the school’s Hall of Fame between games of a boys and girls’ basketball doubleheader against Kiona-Benton on Tuesday night in Finley.

The 2012 football team, which reached the 1A semifinals last fall, will also be inducted.

The girls game starts at 5:45 p.m., and the boys begin at 7:30 p.m.

Sonderland is the only River View athlete in history to be named all-state in two sports — volleyball and softball. She led the volleyball team to state berths in 2004-05 — and the softball team to a state appearance in 2006.

Dallas was an all-state tight end in football in 2005 and helped lead the Panthers’ baseball teams to three state berths as a pitcher. He was also a starter on the basketball team that finished second in state in 2006.

Kimsey was a four-year starter in volleyball, leading the Panthers to state three out of her four seasons, including a fifth-place finish in 2005.

Roberts won a state wrestling championship at 190 pounds in 1985.
