COLLEGE HOOPS: Hodgins leads EWU to victory

January 21, 2013

It was a good Monday for Chiawana graduate Hayley Hodgins.

First, the redshirt freshman for the Eastern Washington women’s basketball team was named Big Sky Conference player of the week after she scored 33 points in two victories for the Eagles last week.

Then on Monday night, Hodgins scored a career-high 22 points to lead the Eagles over Portland State 68-56.

Hodgins hit 4-of-8 shots from beyond the arc, and was a perfect 4-of-4 at the free throw line.

Hodgins has set a new career-high in each of the last three games for EWU.

Teammate Laura Hughes, a graduate from Hanford High, added 8 points in Monday night’s victory.
